Fort Point Capital, a Boston-based private equity firm, announced today that it has invested in a new platform, CellSite Solutions, LLC (“CellSite,” or the “Company”), in partnership with the Company’s management team. Based in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, CellSite is an industry leading provider of telecom infrastructure asset refurbishment and related services. The Company’s offerings include custom modification and refurbishment of telecom shelters, equipment installation, site planning and design, as well as other maintenance and repair services. The Company will continue to be led by Carter Kramer and Chris Wiese, who co-founded CellSite in 2010, operating as its President and Chief Revenue Officer, respectively.
“We are excited to partner with Carter Kramer, Chris Wiese and the rest of the management team to support the Company’s next phase of growth,” said Paul Lipson, Partner at Fort Point Capital. “We believe CellSite’s diversified portfolio of products and services, combined with the team’s extensive industry experience, create tremendous value for its customer base. Furthermore, we believe the Company will continue to benefit from its durable, long-term customer relationships and the strong tailwinds in the broader telecom market.”
“We strongly believe we found the perfect partner for CellSite in Fort Point,” said Carter Kramer, on behalf of the Company’s management team. “Fort Point’s extensive background investing in service-oriented businesses in field service sectors, combined with its focus on partnering with businesses of this size and stage of growth, will be extremely valuable to CellSite.”
“This investment continues Fort Point’s core strategy of partnering with founder-led management teams seeking a long-term partner to accelerate growth,” said David Gagliardi, Vice President at Fort Point Capital. “We look forward to supporting CellSite as it executes against its robust set of growth initiatives and its goal to be the premier one-stop shop for telecommunication site services.”
CellSite is Fort Point’s twelfth platform investment and fourth investment in FPC Small Cap Fund II. Over the past 12 months, Fort Point has closed eight transactions, including the exit of one of its portfolio companies, two new platform investments and five add-on acquisitions in support of its portfolio.
Enterprise Bank & Trust and GMB Capital Partners provided debt financing for the transaction. Kirkland & Ellis and Grant Thornton advised Fort Point, while Skyway Capital Markets served as the exclusive financial advisor to CellSite.
