Fort Point Capital Completes Sale of Engineering, Planning and Management, Inc. to Onet North America, Inc.

Boston, MA — Fort Point Capital, a private equity firm focused on lower middle-market, service-oriented investments, announced today that it has completed the sale of Engineering, Planning and Management, Inc. (“EPM” or the “Company”) to Onet North America, Inc., a subsidiary of Onet (“Onet”), an international engineering and services company based in Marseille, France.  Headquartered in Framingham, MA, EPM is a best-in-class provider of safety related engineering services and software to nuclear facilities and other commercial facilities across the globe.

Since its investment in July 2013, Fort Point Capital actively supported the Company’s growth initiatives via the addition of a Chief Financial Officer and Chief Operating Officer and a professional board of industry luminaries, the development and execution of a strategic plan to expand into adjacent end markets and new geographies, a profitability and working capital enhancement project and investments in new software and service offerings.

Christina Pai, Partner at Fort Point Capital and a board member of EPM, said, “EPM epitomizes our strategy of acquiring niche leaders and working with those management teams to significantly improve and transform their businesses from a qualitative and quantitative standpoint.  We are thankful to the EPM management team and employees for their hard work and wish them continued success with Onet.  We believe that a partnership with Onet will allow the Company to enter new geographic markets and pursue cross-selling opportunities in North America, Europe and Asia.”

Robert Kalantari, CEO of EPM, added, “With Fort Point’s support and encouragement, we leveraged our successful track record and market leadership position to introduce new software and service offerings, acquire new customers and expand into new markets and geographies.  We were able to build the team and infrastructure to position the Company to continue its growth trajectory over the next several years.”

The sale of EPM marks the second portfolio realization for Fort Point and first realization from FPC Small Cap Fund I.

Houlihan Lokey served as financial advisor to EPM.  Kirkland & Ellis provided legal counsel to the Company.  Founded in 2010, Fort Point has completed nine transactions since inception – five platform investments, two exits and two add-on acquisitions.
